happy birthday to grandma! she turns 89 today and to celebrate we took her to have chicken fired steak. 
for those who don't know, chicken fried steak is neither chicken or steak but rather a cheap piece of beef that has been beaten until it can be beaten no more, breaded and fried like chicken- always served with mashed potatoes and gravy. this is one of our families favorite treats. as a gift i made her a giant cupcake. yummy.
